The America First Credit Union mobile app is a free iOS and Android application that gives AFCU's 1.5 million members anywhere account access, mobile check deposit, biometric sign-in, Zelle payments, and instant card freeze. The app uses the same User ID and password as online banking at secure.americafirst.com and is published in both stores under America First Credit Union.
What the AFCU mobile app does
America First Credit Union (AFCU) publishes a single mobile application for both Apple iOS and Google Android. The app is free to download, free to use, and is the primary digital channel for the credit union's 1.5 million members. After download, members enroll using member number, Social Security number, and date of birth — the same enrollment process as the web at secure.americafirst.com. Once enrolled, the app supports balance look-ups, transfers, bill pay, Zelle, mobile deposit, and card management.
The dashboard is the home screen of the app and displays balances for up to 15 accounts in member-defined order. Tapping any account opens a 90-day transaction history with search and filter by payee, category, amount, date, tag, or type. AFCU members can also aggregate accounts from other financial institutions into Money Manager for a unified view of household finances. Aggregated accounts show with a tilde (~) in the account number to indicate they are read-only.
How to download and enroll
- Search the app store.Open the Apple App Store on iPhone/iPad or the Google Play Store on Android and search for America First Credit Union. Confirm the developer is listed as America First Credit Union before installing.
- Tap Enroll in Online/Mobile Banking.First-time users tap the enrollment link on the sign-in screen. The flow asks for member number, Social Security number, and date of birth on file.
- Create credentials or sign in.If you already use online banking, sign in with the existing User ID and password. New members create credentials that work across mobile, web, Quicken, and QuickBooks.
- Enable biometric sign-in.In Settings, enable Face ID or Touch ID on iPhone, or fingerprint on Android. Biometric replaces typed password for faster sign-in after the first authenticated session.
- Approve device permissions.Grant camera access for mobile check deposit, contacts access for Zelle, and location access for branch finder and Card Guard if you want those features.
Mobile check deposit
Mobile check deposit is one of the most-used features in the AFCU app. Endorse the back of the check with For Mobile Deposit Only at AFCU plus your signature, tap Deposit in the app, and capture images of the front and back. The camera auto-detects edges and prompts for retakes if focus is poor. Enter the deposit amount and confirm. Funds typically post the next business day, subject to standard funds-availability holds; larger deposits or new accounts may have longer holds.
